Those streaks are Gloeocapsa magma, a cyanobacteria that feeds on the powdered limestone used as filler in asphalt shingles. It arrives airborne, takes hold on the shaded and north-facing slopes first, and spreads downward — which is why the streaking runs vertically.
A roof is the one surface where high pressure is unambiguously destructive. Asphalt shingles are protected by a layer of ceramic-coated granules; those granules are the shingle's UV shield and its fire rating. Pressure washing sweeps them into your gutters by the handful, and you can usually see the loss as dark bare patches afterward. Most shingle manufacturers void the warranty for pressure washing, and every major one specifies low-pressure chemical cleaning instead.

If your roof has thick moss, expect it to keep improving after we leave, and we'll say so before you book rather than after.
Gutters and plants are protected by pre-wetting and flooding the runoff path, which is a real part of the job rather than an afterthought. Keep pets indoors while we're applying and rinsing, then let them back out once everything has been rinsed down — same as you would after fertilising a lawn.
